Tim makes "overwhelming" and "memorable" Canadian debut

This Christmas Tim travelled to Quebec and Montreal for Handel’s Messiah, appearances which marked his debut in Canada. Collaborating with Les Violons du Roy and conductor Bernard Labadie for the first time, his performances received much acclaim.

“the revelation of the evening was the countertenor Tim Mead, ideal, with easy and very fine high notes and nuances of the meaning of the text, which were very much in tune with the conductor. Together, and with the orchestra, Labadie and Mead achieved a memorable "He was despised"…”
Le Devoir

"Among the soloists, it was the countertenor Tim Mead who stood out the most, with a flexible and round voice and an admirable refinement in the vocalizations, in particular in the aria "Thou art gone up on high”…”

“Countertenor Tim Mead also has a beautiful, very moving presence with a beautiful, well-projected voice.”
L’Initiative

“ we will remember the voice of great sweetness of counter-tenor Tim Mead and his understanding of the text that is not overplayed. His “He was despised”, among other things, is overwhelming.”
Les Artzés

Tim returns to Messiah for his first performance of 2020, alongside the RIAS Kammerchor and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin at the Berlin Philharmonie. This project will also include a new recording of the work, marking Tim’s second appearance on disc in this role.

Tim returns to Canada for further performances with Les Violons du Roy under Jonathan Cohen later in 2020.
