Vivaldi solo CD - Fundraising appeal

After years of indecision, I'm excited to reveal that I've curated my FIRST solo album! Juxtaposing sacred and secular aspects of Vivaldi’s work, the programme explores the earthly passion of the divine and the heavenly beauty of love. Hearing them side by side, the singular approach of the composer reveals these two worlds to be closely entwined, in music that is both astonishing and virtuosic.

The works to be recorded are:

Antiphon RV618: "Salve Regina"
Sinfonia al Santo Sepolcro RV169
Cantata RV684: "Cessate, omai, cessate"
Nisi Dominus RV608
Concerto for 2 Oboes in A Minor RV536
Cantata RV683: "Amor, hai vinto"

Alongside the incredible musicians of Arcangelo under Jonathan Cohen, we plan to record this programme in London in February 2021 on Alpha Classics. But we need your help! With some funding already secured, we are seeking further donations in order to make this exciting project a reality. Your donations will be principally used to pay the fees of the truly excellent ensemble musicians who will bring this music vividly to life.

Here are the ways you can contribute to our project:

Our friends in the USA can donate here.

Our friends in the UK can donate here.

And all our other friends can donate here.

Thank you in advance for your continued support, which enables us to make projects that so interest and inspire us. Here’s a little taster of the music we’ll be taking into the studio: Cum dedirit from Vivaldi’s Nisi Dominus.
