Tim’s acclaimed New York debut
Tim’s debut in New York has been positively received by audiences and critics alike. For his performances of Handel’s ‘Messiah’ with the New York Philharmonic the New York Times praised Tim’s ‘luminous voice, impeccable control and expressive phrasing’ and The Classical Source comments that ‘it’s not hard to understand why he is in such demand’.

Praise for Tim’s Olympian role
Tim returned to the UK this summer for his first Vivaldi role, in the topical work ‘L’Olimpiade’ at Garsington Opera. He sings the role of Licida, the Prince of Crete, who plots to cheat in the upcoming Olympic Games in order to secure victory and the prize of a beautiful princess. Tim’s performance has been widely acclaimed for his ‘robust and gleaming countertenor’ (The Times) and he has been heralded as a ‘world-class Vivaldian’ (The Sunday Times).

New York debut – December 2012
Tim is delighted to be making his debut in New York in December 2012. He will perform Handel’s ‘Messiah’ with the New York Philharmonic under Emmanuelle Haim and singers Camilla Tilling, Kenneth Tarver and Alastair Miles. There will be 5 performances between 18th and 22nd December, all taking place in Avery Fisher Hall, New York.

‘Flavio’ nominated for Gramophone Award
Tim’s recording of Handel’s ‘Flavio’ with Christian Curnyn and the Early Opera Company for Chandos has been nominated for a Gramophone Award in the Baroque Vocal category. The winners of this year’s awards will be announced on 6th October at the Dorchester Hotel, London.

‘Rinaldo’ opens at Glyndebourne
This weekend, Robert Carsen’s new production of ‘Rinaldo’ opened at Glyndebourne. Set in a 1950′s public school, the production plays out as Rinaldo’s dream of knights defeating his playground bullies. The premiere performance has received widespread critical acclaim, including special praise for Tim’s performance of the role of Eustazio. Details of reviews can be found on the Press page of this website. This production runs for 15 performances until 22nd August 2011 and will be presented at the BBC Proms on 25th August 2011.

‘Other Love Songs’ CD released
The second album from the Prince Consort has just been released on the Linn label. The CD features the two sets of Brahms ‘Liebeslieder’ and Stephen Hough’s ‘Other Love Songs’, commissioned especially for this recording. You can buy this new CD here.

New ‘St. Matthew Passion’ recording
Tim’s performance of the ‘St. Matthew Passion’ with Jos van Veldhoven and De Nederlandse Bachvereniging has just been released on the Channel Classics label. The recording is taken from live performances that took place at the Grote Kerk, Naarden in April 2010 and is Tim’s first Bach recording.

New concert date in Italy this December
Tim is delighted to be returning to Italy to perform in a concert of arias and sinfonias from Handel’s ‘Messiah’ at the Basilica di San Giovanni Battista in Ravenna, with Accademia Bizantina under the direction of Ottavio Dantone. See schedule for further details.

‘Flavio’ CD released
Tim’s new recording of the title role in Handel’s ‘Flavio’ has just been released on the Chandos label. The recording features the Early Opera Company under the direction of Christian Curnyn. This is the third Handel opera that Tim has recorded, adding to earlier recordings of ‘Admeto’ and ‘Riccardo Primo’. You can purchase this new recording here.
